1. Thou shalt know that I have a quick tongue, quick to debate, quick to anger, but rich in mercy, and that I am not God.
2. Thou shalt not swear at me.
3. Thou shalt not make me the target of your pranks.
4. Thou shalt stay faithful to thy duty and not cause my worry (lest thou thinkest I am being snobbish).
5. Thou shalt treat thy neighbour with courtesy and not contempt, whether in front of me or not.
6. Thou shalt not make me cry (or else the sky will fall.)
7. Thou shalt not abandon thy friends for reason of poor attendance, or whatnot - thou hast been taught that to err is human, to forgive, divine.
8. Thou knowest well that all defamatory comments are not issued by me, and anyone who issues them will have their comments deleted.
9. Thou shalt not treat with contempt someone who has wronged thee.
10. Thou shalt not greviously cross me thrice* ; for to do so shall mean never to cross my path again.
I had to write these ten commandments simply because these past three months have been months of hurt. Forgive and forget, surely. Yes, that is what I will do. But that also means I will keep my distance from those who chose to hurt others. I set these tenets because I know the unwritten rule in colleges and in workplaces : those in the higher rank have authority, but no energy. Those in the lower rank, however, have sudden outburts of energy but not authority, and they use their energy in the wrong places for the wrong purposes.
*By the words "greviously cross me thrice" I mean those who choose to hurt others without a solid reason, or a so-called solid reason which, in the end, does not benefit them. And for the sake of keeping my conscience clear and perhaps, others', I will keep my distance.
