troisnyx* is drummer girl ?

Okay, so what actually happened during Confirmation Course was this : I became drummer girl. Finally.

It so happened that I was in the worship team for the Confirmation Course - we provide the music for praise and worship sessions. And all this while I was on keys. Then...... on the first night, unexpectedly, the hall was empty. Everyone had left for the pantry while I was alone. I slowly unzipped Evan's bag, grabbed a functional pair of sticks (some of his sticks were broken but he's still keeping them), toned down the volume (thank God they were digital drums), and I began to play. I prayed before playing. I really wanted to do this.

And I did.

A few moments later Evan came and was standing like some army corporal. He told me my coordination was out. I just smiled. I'm a drummer girl ! I'm happy. I know I am.

Here're some pix from the Confirmation Course - it took place one week prior to Confirmation Day on 2nd of June, it was in this retreat centre in Cameron Highlands :

Just so you'd know what I'm talking about. This was my first attempt on the drums. One of the facilitators wanted to take a shot of me, so I relented.

This is Brandon. One of our star drummers.

The one on the drums is Evan. (I guess the two of them - Brandon and Evan - were having some fun and I was just looking on.)

This one's Devin, our guitarist. He seems to be in a pensive mood....

Two of the facilitators and their antics during break. Now you know they're not a tiresome lot !

Father O.C. Lim in plainclothes, giving a session on Christianity and Current Issues. The hottest issue at that time was the Lina Joy case. And he, being an ex-lawyer, really had a great discussion with us.

The sea of confirmands posing for the camera ! Kiran's the one with the frizzy hair. My childhood friend.

This was one of the most tearful farewells I've ever had : earlier, we were washing each other's feet as a sign of submission (like how Christ washed his apostles' feet after the Last Supper, on the day before he was to die on the cross) - and when I washed my groupies' feet, I was moved to tears. The next moment, after the washing was done, we hugged each other. Even the strongest of characters - Brandon, Kiran, Marianne - all were crying. Some of us knew we'd never see each other ever again.
