I had class with DK again today and we touched on what had become of the C1. And this is a rough translation of our conversation :
DK : One thing I know for sure - the results come out pretty quick. It's only the certificate that takes a long time.
troisnyx* : But I was told that the results would only be out in January !
DK : Who else could've told you that the results would only be out in January ? Farita of course ! No doubt, according to protocol the results would only be out in January. But chances are that they'll have their hands on the results early. And the only delay would be the holiday season.
troisnyx* : Serious ah ?
DK : Yep.
I was stunned. (In case you've forgotten, Farita Rebuan is the DELF/DALF exam coordinator.)
troisnyx* : So are you gonna get feedback from Farita about the results ?
DK : I have to. And I will.
troisnyx* : If she tells you anything about the C1 do tell me, okay ?
DK : Sure thing. And, note ---
For some reason or other, the hall just fell silent.
DK : ---if you had failed, Farita would've told me by now. I have a gut feeling that you've passed.
troisnyx* : Really ?
Truly, I wasn't too sure. I didn't want to be too sure.
DK : Surely, after all the good reviews the examiners gave me ! The only minus point in their reviews was that you were nervous.
troisnyx* : Okay, okay, I admit I was a little nervous---
DK : ---Too nervous.
troisnyx* : Ughhhhh !
DK : Otherwise they gave really good reviews.
troisnyx* : Are you sure ? What about the part where I had to build up and defend my facts ? The part where I was always faltering during preparation ?
DK : You did that well. Well, there's always proof and I get to hear it, thanks - or no thanks - to you being the only candidate for the C1.
troisnyx* : I'd say no thanks !
So the current perception is, I've passed. But have I really passed ? How well did I do the other tests ? If I really did pass, then it's sweet. The youngest to pass the C1 - imagine ! I'm definitely not the first to get through that test, but I may be able to stamp my mark as the youngest to pass the C1. I pray God, please come to my aid !
