And on this day I can praise the Lord...
I got through my B2 exam !!!
Yes, and who knows ? I may just as well be the youngest on my side to get through...
Now that I did get through, I can continue hoping and praying for a good grade. And now, I can also spill out how I actually did the exam... *laughs*
As I checked the list on the examination hall door, I already knew what to expect !
The listening test was one tough cookie. I didn't answer three or four... maybe even five questions ! And I don't know how many marks I actually got from that. The written test was alright. Just as I was about to check my answers [back then I had 45 minutes until the end of the test], I realised that I had three wrong answers - and all in the long questions ! So I had to take my correction pen *groan* and nicely cancel all that I had to write. And that took me ten minutes ! *laughs* But one thing was for sure - I was sure of my written test.
The spoken test is another thing I'm still not sure of. I came into the preparation room [it was the Alliance Française library] quite late as I was one of the last few. Then again, there were only two questions left - #2 and #6. I think I chose #6. Good grief, that question was on wholesale whatever stuff ! And I'm one of those people who don't even care about Principles of Accounts, or Economics in school I totally forgot my question... but it did involve marketing strategy - and I am, after all, too young for that ! And [thank God !] my turn was delayed by an hour. So I sat down, hoping that whatever I prepared was good enough to present. And when I came in there.........
....... good grief, I was expecting two French examiners and it turned out to be one French, one local. Yeah, a guy and a girl. And the girl [yes, the French one] was taking down my marks ! She must've been strict ! Good grief, again - I was repeating two sentences as I was unsure. But as I introduced my topic, "voici le point de vue de l'adolescente" [here is the teenager's point of view], they were like, "Teenager ? How old are you ?" and I said "15 years !" and I wonder how they reacted to that one...
In exactly one month I fget my results. Not going for class for ten months or so is not going to mean that I'm about to lose my French, okay ? I need to train, and I know I will.
And in another month's time, I am going to take my official results - and the certificate along with them. Meanwhile, I do not know how I'm going to celebrate the victory....... yes, in that same month, the Alliance Française will announce the people who made it and the people who fell...... and I am happy and blessed to be among those who made it ! Who knows... if I may be the youngest to get through the B2 ?
Next up - SPM, and then C1 ! And in the meantime, I had better go offer a thanksgiving mass.............
Thank you Lord !! Hallelujah !! Praise to you !! I was like, scared about it last night but you cleared everything for me !!
And thanks DK - this is my birthday gift to you... no matter how small it may be.
