Parler is the French word for speak, and Perancis is…… er, I think many of you know that already. Or even if you don’t know much Malay, you can figure it out from the title of this post. I guess they stuck with those two P’s for uniformity. DK’s students are in the fray, and I’d also invite into the fray any other French-speaker I know, just about anyone who’s interested.
And we’re coming back with a reunion on the 2nd of November (is it right ?) – all they said that it’s gonna be in early November and it’s gonna be on a Sunday evening…… I just can’t wait ! It’s been two years since we even had a reunion. And this time, I hope it’s gonna be bigger and better ! I got all excited when they were announcing it on their Facebook page.
Can someone drive me to wherever it’s gonna be held, please ? I know it isn’t much of an out-of-reach place but whenever they say not out-of-reach it’s usually in Ampang or Bangsar, the French-speakers’ hubs. And I’m just not familiar with those two places yet. The only route I know is college, home and back.
Let’s see. Someone else is organising the reunion, setting the place ready and stuff. Me being the audiophile, DK put me in charge of the playlist and the lyrics books. I can’t print everything in one go, but well… I assembled everything I could for the moment, and I’ve got lots more to do.
I liked the previous reunion we had – it was in December 2005 and I think almost the whole fray was there. Everyone was so sporting, the reunion was a success ! I admit I got a little overexcited there, and some people got really annoyed with me, but otherwise it was just perfect. And, I also remember Thierry (while he was still in Malaysia – now he’s in Singapore) handed me the first slice of chocolate cake…… He called me the « Alizée malaisienne » some few weeks after that, just for the fact that I sang Alizée’s “L’Alizé”.
Bring on the Alizée, Zazie, Indochine and Johnny Hallyday please. =)
Soirée à la française, people !
