I passed my driving examination today.
And that also means that I will be getting my probationary licence in a matter of days. Mmmmmmm. The P stickers smell like new swimwear.
I went there at around 8, only to find that there was a huge crowd waiting at the JPJ station. Then when the JPJ station was opened, everyone lined up - and I was waiting at the wrong line. I was waiting among the first-timers ! Immediately when I was told that it was the first-timers' line, I went to the resitters' line. It was much shorter, and much quicker, and I could go to the waiting area in just five minutes. Then the waiting. As I figured it would happen, JPJ delayed my number again. The examination was supposed to be at 8.30 - but goodness knows what time I actually went into the car. And there was this good JPJ guy, very friendly, not the type who would bully candidates - he was very seasoned.
I figured, if I had the same examiner as that of the previous session, I'd make him feel bad for not giving me a chance to get my probationary licence when my mom was alive. Thank God that did not happen ; instead, my frayed nerves were calmed when he started talking to me. And just as I had prayed for, I passed.
Perhaps she may not be there for me to show her the licence. Perhaps I don't have more reasons to run home and celebrate. But then again, receiving a P licence and P stickers, to some, is a sign of independence. And so it is for me. Mom's eyes lit up while she was still in the high dependency unit, and we were talking about getting a new car. I remember that. Well, I guess the decision has to be set in stone - car !
And guess what that all took me ?
Wearing my Sunset Band tee to the driving examination, of course. =)
