Penang, home of the champions ?

And there I was, as I went to Penang, all filled with honour and willing to take this opportunity to make a lap of honour around the school where the champions are from...

Yes... now that the Penangites are champions, I thought I'd just as well make a lap of honour around PCGHS [Penang Chinese Girls' High School] as they'd be the ones representing all of us, as it were.

But just as I was about to do so, some idiotic morotcyclist passed at 140 km/h without giving any signals. And there came another at top speed. And another. And another. Penang, Home of the Champions ? What happened to them, seriously ?

Seriously, they know they are champions of the Choir Nationals 2006 yet they do not behave like champions ! No offence, Penangites, but you have got to look at this for yourselves - the way they drive is dangerous ! I can never pass a single moment of safety while crossing the road ! It is just like.. crossing blindfolded ! Just while my parents and I were on my way to my grandparents' place, this fat guy in a Proton Wira came behind us and hooted at us. And he passed us, and we hooted back. Have they no sense ? Just because they want to pass us, they hoot at us for no apparent reason ?

I am just glad that the condition in KL is not half as bad as what I experienced over there. That is the price I pay for letting myself be too linient... first we lose, then someone else wins ; and when that someone wins, the people in their hometown become unruly. Get some sense and be perfect drivers on the road, for goodness' sake ! Just look at the drivers in Japan ! Or even Singapore ! They are so much more courteous and in fact, no accidents happen. When we were in Penang, we were 100% accident-prone. Penangites out there, please do something about it !

Man, I really hit back at them for once.
